Caledon Supports Doctors without Borders and the Haitian Earthquake Relief Effort
(Posted January 20th, 2010 )
Anytime there is news of a disaster or war elsewhere in the world, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to have shelter and food when others go without these basic necessities. Today, the situation in Haiti is dire. While the death toll is comparable to the 2006 Tsunami, the injury counts are much higher and their entire infrastructure (not good to begin with) has been destroyed.
Caledon Card Services decided to donate to Doctors without Borders on behalf of our company and staff. This volunteer organization has had a long term presence in Haiti. Their overhead is low, with most of the funds raised going directly to reduce the suffering and tending to the many injured. Let us hope that our donation can aid, in even one small way, to reduce the suffering in Haiti.
